a small compilation of fully improvised voice mem0z from 2021-2022

inspired by julia cameron's "the artist's way," i started recording myself improvising regularly in jan 2020 (my musical version of "morning pages"), the same month that i 'became' oropendola. it was a form of meditation .. and emotional & spiritual catharsis- a place of meeting myself exactly where i was, and just observing - not controlling, editing, or crafting - what would unfold. how exhilarating to allow the full spectrum to emerge, not just the parts that I deem to be "song-worthy."

kinda embarrassed, kinda scared, kinda psyched to share these publicly. meep.

I consider unfiltered improvisation to be the most rewarding creative (and personal) tool.. u should try it too <3
